Hey everyone, I used to come here a lot a while ago. I took a long break from meditation but for the past week I've started up again and it's definitely helping me calm my mind.
I suffer from chronic headaches. I've been to a bunch of doctors that haven't really helped at all. I'm convinced that the pain in psychological in origin mainly because the quality of the headache changes depending on my mood and when I meditate. It feels like a muscular tension behind my eyes that extends to my throat. When i meditate I can feel the tension dissolve into the rest of my body which gives me a very pleasurable and peaceful feeling.
So I just wondering if anyone here has dealt with this kind of thing before, and if they could offer me some good advice. I really just want the damn headaches to go away completely. I imagine it feel so good, lol
Take care, EK |

I suffered from chronic headaches for years. After starting practices, they reduced by a bit. Practices, acupuncture, massages, chiropractor... one of these or a combination of these worked. My neck, shoulder and upper back muscles were very tight, and this results in the muscles in the head getting pulled cauing the headaches. I haven't had one of those headaches in more than a year now. Hope your headaches get better soon. they are not fun. |

Hi Eddy, I used to suffer from chronic headaches. I now get one or two in a year. I am fairly certain it is due to AYP SPB and DM. I initially thought it was due to jala neti - but maybe not - because I havent done jalaneti for the past one year and still no headaches. You are right it takes time - 6 months to a year of regular practice but a headache free world is great! All the best! |

Hi
I suffered from chronic back pain about 10 years ago for 9 years. I went to several specialists and nobody could help. The only thing that worked for me was a book by John E. Sarno called, "The Mind/Body Connection". It went in 7 weeks and no pain at all after that. Ok, I might have had the odd ache, but I applied the technique and it went away again. He's got a great success rate. It just doesn't work always, but it's one of the first things I'd try for chronic pain.
