The very first basic fundamental spiritual sadhana to attain the ultimate of God-realisation is seva, paropakara, selfless service unto all creatures, all being. Serve the sick, serve the poor, serve the destitute, serve the elders, serve your neighbours, serve society, serve the country, serve all humanity, serve all creatures. Service is more that a mere social process. When you serve man actually serve the God hidden in man, immanent in all creation, the living Reality present in all being. So, manav seva (service of man) is Ishvar aradhana (worship of God)(Swami Chidananda)
