For those of a mathematical disposition. The song was written around the golden ratio, or Fibbonacci sequence.
It's interesting how music crosses continents. |

Shanti, this song knocks to my sleepy heart also.. great to know that you guys also like it. Is it only I think or they really indicated that Akbar was an awakened person and had an opening during this song as shown in the video? well I readily believed it as Akbar was one of the greatest ruler with an open heart and views which were ahead by centuries if not timeless.
one more in the similar line by A R Rahman: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McYnZj-EvL4
The song goes on saying that:
'whoever has come to your door to bow to you ... all got drunk from love and kept waving ... they came with great thirst in their heart and got treated with no less than a sea ... they kept soaking in the shower of light...'
'I used to get an aroma, I used to get totally lost in it and kept trying to find the source ... when I came to your door, I saw the truth and realized that it is coimng from within me, which you have ignited.'
Another favorite of mine, which I like to play when I do asana - it is from the movie matrix: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOtoIBrBAYE
Let us all soak in the rain of light ... |

A song to contemplate(old and traditional ).. It makes me realize the fraility of life as well as the blessing of having a human body..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLjR...ture=mh_lolz
by Henry Lyte
Abide with me; fast falls the eventide; The darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide; When other helpers fail and comforts flee, Help of the helpless, oh, abide with me.
I need Thy presence every passing hour; What but Thy grace can foil the tempter’s pow’r? Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be? Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.
I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless; Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness; Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory? I triumph still, if Thou abide with me. |

I like Bruno Mars Songs and also Adele
Especially these two
"I would catch a Grenade for you" by Bruno Mars "If you ever leave me baby..." by Bruno Mars
"I set fire to the rain" by Adele
Though these songs are not spiritual the passion in them feels like the passion we all have for spiritual life and awakening.

Thanks Near. Love those songs...
The other day one of my friends on FB posted.. "There's a fire starting in my heart"... and it stopped me for a second... "There's a fire burning in my heart" for Ma, for a while now ... and just the night before I had a dream of my heart being on fire, but this fire did not burn or destroy... |

Yeah Adele's songs are very passionate. She had a painful break-up, spent several months shutting herself in a room drinking 4 bottles of wine everyday and then came back and produced this album which was an instant chart topper that made her famous.
The below lyrics are from the song "I set fire to the rain" where she talks about her pain. This is my song as well to enlightenment/awakening especially when I feel down that I am not making progress :)
I know the "awakening" will always win and there is nothing that I can do except for setting fire to the rain and let it burn me
I let it fall, my heart, And as it fell you rose to claim it It was dark and I was over Until you kissed my lips and you saved me
My hands, they're strong But my knees were far too weak To stand in your arms Without falling to your feet
But there's a side to you That I never knew, never knew. All the things you'd say They were never true, never true, And the games you play You would always win, always win.
[Chorus:] But I set fire to the rain, Watched it pour as I touched your face, Well, it burned while I cried 'Cause I heard it screaming out your name, your name!
Here is the youtube video for those who havent watched it yet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlsBObg-1BQ |

Bitter Sweet Symphony..The Verve ....... No change, I can't change but I'm here in my mold But I'm a million different people from one day to the next...
Well I've never prayed, But tonight I'm on my knees recognize the pain in me I let the melody shine, let it cleanse my mind, I feel free now.

More upbeat - I've made sure that Brandon Boyd is not visible in this band because you would probably get distracted. |
