I am like a fly drawn by your flame Again and again I fly to you Oh how it burns, how it hurts Still I am always coming back to you How can it be so attractive yet so painful? Will-I, one day, merge with you? Like a fly engulfed in flame No more pain, only flame and light |

That is beautiful!
There is a famous saying 'The Sufi is the moth flying into the flame of the Divine'.
And here is a different point of view:
As the moth attracted by the lamp's flame falls into it in full knowledge! Maya is the Lamp, man is the moth, circling arround [the flame], he falls. ~ Kabir
So you are neither the fly, nor the flame.
Or you are both and more!

Tanks to both of you.
Yes I wrote this. It came to me as I was feeling an intense longing for the divine in me while I was at an inspiring music concert. I was feeling this strong desire but at the same time I was thinking about all the pain and suffering I run into with the purification process of spiritual practices. I realised how crazy I am to always come back to more suffering. It was a mixed feeling of despair and resolution to go to the end of this desire.
Thanks Manigma for this information |
