iMO the film succeeded in contrasting genuine spiritual thinking of the saint vs common mundane worldy thinking, inluding that of the many monks in the same monastery.

Hi Chiron,

The Christian Orthodox tradition has history of clairvoyant healer saint monks. One that's our contemporary and very well documented is Elder Porphyrios http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porphy..._Bairaktaris

The reason why we may not know of the ones that may be around right now is that they live in seclusion in remote caves, forests etc.
