Now I am two
First I was One, though I didn’t know Now I am two, and I think I know one that is real, and one that is not; the latter concerned with “to do”
Trouble arises when I forget that the real can embody the fake When instead I wage war on this merciless other, so that I can continue to get
But I cannot reach Truth outside the fake My march must penetrate deep into the realms of the land of the snake When I see, we make friends with a shake
In love it protects my endless Void The scary, black hole I can’t face It’s amazing indeed, to most of me, that the vast, empty word of “nothing” holds the key to the secret “to Be”
First I was One and now I am two, but in no time the two will merge And then, when I know there is nothing but knowing, then I am One again too

I like the whole poem. But those two lines work awfully well just on their own! |
