Namaste friends
I feel very drawn to these songs at this point in time. They are so beautiful to me. Sometimes my crown, ajna, or sushumna goes apesh*t with ecstasy when I listen to them.
Kali Aarti (Jai Kali Mata)
Om Namah Shivaya by Krishna Das (Thanks Yonatan for reminding me of this song )
Feel free to add any song that inspires you...

at this moment, it seems like I don't know where I have been all these years...
why on Earth do I not have all of Krishna Das music, which I know is alot of CD...?
and I am wondering if you had made a fun pun with going apesh.t with ecstasy when krishna das sings about/to/for Hanuman.not depicted from your posting- I don't mean that impolite, just made the correlation upon reading about this morning. maybe I am just on a tangent.
I liked both songs, and stashed them in favorites. thanks |

Here is a song called "My Baba" by Trevor Hall that features Krishna Das....one of my favorites. Gets my kundalini going everytime I hear it (every Trevor Hall song does ). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MR5oPP_oj6c
Here are the lyrics:
Give Thanks and Praise
My baba wears a blanket This love you'll never shake it He's got his hands and eyes in oh so many many places You could try to run but you could never hide The whole world is his home Mother Earth and Father Sky
He taught me feed and serve and to remember God Remember love is not outside, it's within your heart He comes and feels grace, transcendental time and space Love with the whole human race, come and get your taste
Hara hara hara mahadev (And so the story goes) Hara hara hara mahadev (Just as the river flows) Hara hara hara mahadev (And so the story goes) Hara hara hara mahadev (Just as the river flows)
My baba lets me know he loves me just the way I am Made in God's hands, don't have to change a strand Of my hair or my eye color Nobody's other All are sisters, brothers in this family Family tree grows so tall that it scrapes the sky Lost in its branches and I don't know why Fixed both of my wings and taught me how to fly A river of joyful tears flows from my eyes
Yes I decide this is the callin' No more of stallin' Reach and grab the hand of the friend of the fallen Queen's on the island, but we'll jump the ocean Gonna build a bridge of love and set it in motion Throw out your reason, this love's in season Sings in the earth and the air that we're breathin' This is the chapter, a symphony of laughter That never dies, let it shine, love divine
Hara hara hara mahadev (And so the story goes) Hara hara hara mahadev (Just as the river flows) Hara hara hara mahadev (And so the story goes) Hara hara hara mahadev (Just as the river flows)
Hara hara hara mahadev (And so the story goes) Hara hara hara mahadev (Just as the river flows) Hara hara hara mahadev (And so the story goes) Hara hara hara mahadev (Just as the river flows)
Hara hara hara mahadev Hara hara hara mahadev Hara hara hara mahadev Hara hara hara mahadev |

Hey Cosmic & All,
I too love the Krishna Das version of Aum (or Om) Namah Shivaya; that was the song that officially registered Kirtan on my This Stuff Is AWESOME! Meter.
Here's a few others I like.
Cool Shiva Bhajan
Aum Shakti Aum -- a bit of the "Kashmir Shaivism Blues", performed Live at Swami Lakshmanjoo's Birthday Celebration --- by some guy --- named Trevor Hall.
Kali Mata by Jai Uttal
AWESOME New Live version of Aum Namah Shivaya by Donna Delory.
Bhagavan Das - Shiva Shambho.
Shiva Tandava Stotram.
Enjoy; I may well have some more later.
Wholeheartedly,
Kirtanman

Great songs, Carson and K-man! The more I listen to Trevor Hall, the more I pick up on how devoted he is.
I'm new to devotional music, but I'm getting quickly hooked

Hey sage, the pun was a happy accident. I wasn't aware that KD sings about Hanuman |

well, I didn't know either until I was just browsing in the Krishna Das stuff.. just know looking thru the Hanuman Chalisa I found out it was a poem written by Talsidas...whom I also just learned of his poetry. I have only read one poem and I liked it alot. someone had posted the Chalisa awhile ago...must have been Kirtanman...maybe I find it difficult yet fun to learn and connect all kinds of stuff like Avlokitshwara, Hanuman, Baby Gopi, Vishnu,Gopali Krishna shankara, all kinds of Baba's, etc.
having some understanding coming thru music is the most entertaining and fun way to learn.music seems to work better than reading for me. I like most of the music posted here...
and I can see that recently there have been alot of new music to listen too!

& thanks Carson for the Trevor Hall lyrics, your "Trevor Hall feat. Matisyahu "Unity"" thread got me on to Trevor Hall and Matisyahu and I dig them both.

Thanks Cosmic. . loved it also
Here is a couple of chants I love, a bit of Jai Uttal with Radha Ramana Haribol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKNXDiXO8d8 I love the mridangam at 5.50, bassy speakers helpful
This one also I love Narayana Narayana Jai Jai Govinda Hare; apparently it's a must see. . . I agree, although given my name is Narayana there could be some bias http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySgOfD0Pt7U
