Hi all,

There is a specific Kundalini Yoga protocol for treating OCD. The
protocol was devised by
David Shannahoff-Khalsa using techniques taught to him by Yogi
Bhajan, a Master of Kundalini Yoga.
Shannahoff-Khalsa is a Yogi and scientist, specializing in the
treatment of psychiatric disorders with Kundalini Yoga, visit his
site
http://www.theinternetyogi.com/html/video.html

You can download one article at "clicking here" (.pdf) in the journal
Brief Treatment and Crisis Intervention.

Kundalini Yoga is something that is supposed to be practiced as it is
taught (and not by adding other things from other systems, or even by
changing or altering sets of exercises within the system).

Telling an obsessive compulsive to do ANYTHING for precisely "31 minutes" (as this
resource repeatedly does) strikes me as potentially hoaxish! :)

Perhaps that "31 minutes" was chosen precicely because of an obsessive compulsives presumable perfectionism. To draw them into the practice using their own oCD tendencies. I am just speculating here.

I had a look at the site. I did like to see that the paper reported
genuine scientific research, with a proper control group and
blinding. He reports benefits relative to the control group
*which*is*doing*another*form*of*meditation*, which is very good. I
cannot comment on the strength of the benefits (because I don't know
those particular metrics) but I like what I see so far.

By the way, certain groups, which shall be nameless, like TM, :)
exploit peoples lack of understanding of science and do loads of
research that is useless because it improperly controlled and
blinded, and then tout themselves as the most "researched" form of
meditation.

It's good to see a controlled, blinded study.
