I have noticed quite frequently when meditating that in the distance i can see a small very black spot surrounded by a little haze of light, i was wondering if anyone knows what this is? If anything.
Thanks. |

Hi Whitecrane:
This lesson can shed some light on that: http://www.aypsite.org/92.html with a followup here: http://www.aypsite.org/179.html
The experience can have many variations according to the course of individual purification, but the inner neurobiology involved is the same.
The guru is in you.

Wow, I just got hate mail for that response. Just in case anyone else missed my attempt at levity, the visual effect described is precisely what one would expect from an eclipse afterimage.
Not the greatest joke in the world, but I figure a bit of sillyness is healthy amid all the earnest talk of urine drinking and tongue snipping and such. And it's not like I'm getting high fives via email for my GOOD jokes (e.g. the Lionel Ritchie reference).... harumph......
Anyway, apologies to anyone else who (totally) misunderstood....

The solar eclipse is just fine for me Jim, its the fun side of meditating. There is the other darker side of course, thats the side that reckons i described something that looks like its from the film The Ring...Ha Ha. |
