Let them rest forever in light,
my prayer release their plight,
and your mercy bring peace
upon them.

In every memory written
may darkness be
forfeit to the innocence
of the first waking day.

And forgiveness take,
all unshed tears,
sorrows and fears,
every stain be pardoned,
cleansed by your light and grace.

Come the renewal,
day of last,
the sun to burn
all shadows cast.

May the souls that
kept you holy
be guarded by your hand
away from the barren land
by your servant of light
with sword in hand.

And all the prayers of
humble kind,
from all devoted
hearts and minds,
be in memory this day
carry them away,
and into your embrace
shall forever they stay.

Light into light,
all things to you return,
light from light,
your servant comes.

The light of water flows,
dissolves all weights and woes,
for eternal rest upon them.

Light from light,
into light,
may they find their way
to your waiting heart
and waiting hearts;
your kindness and mercy,
always welcoming the lost.

Spirit, grant them rest,
forever may they rest.

And of me,
deliver me on that day of last,
when the earth shakes,
and heaven shakes,
and the darkness is challenged
to let go.
When the light shines,
let it be forever,
light into light upon them.

Where angels lead, follow,
for you are free,
light from light
and into light,
eternal rest upon you.
