Emptying the bottle
Cowering into pain,
tight body, small and shaken
by the residue and stain
of the mind’s escapings.
Moving in constant battle,
changing direction
against the blood
that carries the fear,
demanding attention,
wanting, wanting, wanting.
Sounding to break the silence,
entering into the loss;
generating pulses
to trick the mind,
his voice struggles on the
desperate, reaching breath.
I want to speak,
I have been here many times;
but he doesn’t run away as I,
he battles against his shadow,
a monster so tiny and unseen
given life by the trickery
of dark medicine,
suppressing and pressurising.
What courage to empty the bottle?
