Mother:
Enough hide n seek, now come reveal yourself
I have looked for you everywhere
Your mother is really tired now
Please come now, its evening and I am worried about you
My sight is getting blurry, please come

Son:
Oh Mother! How to tell where I am?
Here is an open sky for me to fly
Just like the fairy tales you told me
Here is a beautiful world of dreams
My kite is flying absolutely carefree
There is no one to cut through its string or steal it

Mother:
My eyes await you
My heart is getting uneasy
The veranda is getting covered by darkness, where is my little lamp?
The sinking sun is asking, where is the moon?
My moon, where are you?

Son:
Oh Mother! How can I show you what's here?
I took a piece from the waterfall and drank it
I tore many thoughts into bunches and jumped and touched them
The sunshine here is cool like shade
Everything is so fresh and new here
Everything is here Mother, but yet
I feel lonely without you

Translation by me of the Hindi song "Luka Chuppi" from the movie Rang De Basanti.

I love this song. Especially the line:

My kite is flying absolutely carefree
There is no one to cut through its string or steal it

(Sung by A. R. Rahman of 'Jai Ho' from Slumdog Millionaire and Nightingale of India - Lata Mangeshkar)
