Hi All:

This is to let you know that the entire Yahoo Geocities free website service is shutting down on October 26th, affecting millions of internet content providers and users.

Geocities is where the first AYP website was started in 2004, at http://www.geocities.com/advancedyogapractices -- which for the past few years has had only forwarding links on it leading to our current website, www.aypsite.org

There are still quite a few links on the internet leading to the AYP Geocities site. If you know of any, it will be appreciated if you let the host know they will be dead links soon, and suggest that they change them to the aypsite.org address (aypsite.com links are also okay - our alternate site). The Geocities links out there contribute a tiny fraction to AYP's overall traffic, but we'd not like to lose anyone.

It has been suggested to Yahoo that many would be interested in paying a nominal fee for automatic forwarding from Geocities URLs to replacement URLs after the shutdown, but apparently they are not interested in that. The only option they are offering is to upgrade to Yahoo's paid hosting service, or be shut down. Since we are no longer using the AYP Geocities site, we will let it shut down.

For more on Geocities history and the shutdown, see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeoCities

The guru is in you.
