Like everyday, during meditation this morning I was at the point where it feels like I am going to die.
I always become frightened at this point. My family comes to mind, my son, parents... what will happen to them? they will miss me. And what will I do without them? I love them so much and they love me too. My father is old. My son is so sweet... he will call my name and look for me.
But today I gathered courage and took a stand that I must overcome this fear. And suddenly these lines emerged to me. I had read them in The Heart Sutra few years ago.
I felt as if Buddha has come himself and is saying this to me...
HERE, O SARIPUTRA, FORM IS EMPTINESS AND THE VERY EMPTINESS IS FORM; EMPTINESS DOES NOT DIFFER FROM FORM, FORM DOES NOT DIFFER FROM EMPTINESS; WHATEVER IS FORM, THAT IS EMPTINESS WHATEVER IS EMPTINESS, THAT IS FORM;
THE SAME IS TRUE OF FEELINGS, PERCEPTIONS, IMPULSES, AND CONSCIOUSNESS. NO FEELINGS, NO PERCEPTIONS, NO IMPULSES, NO CONSCIOUSNESS; NO EYE, EAR, NOSE, TONGUE, NO BODY, NO MIND...
NO FORMS, NO SOUNDS, NO SMELLS, NO TASTES, NO TOUCHABLES... THERE IS NO IGNORANCE, NO KNOWLEDGE, NO DEATH, NO DECAY... NO EXTINCTION OF DECAY AND DEATH.
TADYATHA... THEREFORE...
DO NOT BE AFRAID OF WHAT YOU SEE OR WHAT YOU FEEL.
GATE GATE PRAGATE PARASAMAGATE BODHI SVAHA!
GO ON, GO ON, GO ON...
I felt like Buddha, Osho, Samuel, Krishna, Lord Shiva... they were all calling me to come and join them.
I am not afraid anymore :) |
