Viparita karani, mahamudra and (the Kripalu) yoga mudra look like asana but why are they considered mudras? Mahamudra works more with bandhas. Also I think there may be viparita karani asana & mudra both. Seems like I've seen both terms used. Any ideas? Thanks.

i think taht they are pretty interchangeable. It seems that they call it a mudra if there are breathing practices or bandhas associated with it. also can just be from which lineage it is being described.
