Namaste,
I am Having high blood pressure for which I am taking mild medication. I am having this HBP only after my brother passed away 3yrs ego of heart attack. But previously I used to have low blood pressure. I honestly think this blood pressure could be cured.Any help regarding lowering blood pressure is really appreciated.

Do you smoke and/or drink? Do you stress more these days? A slight touch of depression maybe? Change is eating patterns?
It can be related to heart opening and/or kundalini. Anyway.. you are in the right path with meditation and (mild) medication . Don't stress too much about it. The more thought you put into it, the longer the symptoms linger on. Continue with the medication and the meditation and you can try the asanas Carson has mentioned above. |

Hatha and meditation are natural medications for many physical/mental diseases.. Diet is a basic thing too. If you can buy "Al Tobb Al Nabawi" (Medecine of the Prophet) it contains many wisdoms concerning healthy way of living. And I just wanted to say be specially careful with the consumption of sugar (white/brown/honey...) and overconsumption of fruits and water as it tends to weaken the heart/kidney function over time. Also watch out the intake of salt. Relaxing music and natural incense (rose, lavender,yasmine...) help calming the heart. Breathing exercises - pranayama - are also balancing.

First of all thanks Carson,Shanti and christine .
I am just going through them Carzon all those links given by you. I am bit lazy. I have to start doing the asanas again. I remember stopping them since I felt doing yoga(asanas) increased my blood pressure.But now I came to know some pranayama which I was doing earlier had breath retention which made it worst.but now I am easy on it.

No I don't smoke or drink. But I noticed for the past 3 days my blood pressure was way too high and I had to take extra shot of pills to bring it down.Now I am wondering if its kundalini stuff (I did add Heart Pranayama recently)
Christine I'll try to get that book.I have reduced salt intake but have to cut down a lot on my junk food. Thanks I'll take pranayama into consideration.
Btw I haven't added bastrika pranayama yet to my AYP Practice becaz of this bp thing.

Hi Viji. A friend of mine had very high blood pressure and nothing was bringing it down....not medicine, salt reduction, caffeine reduction, zero alcohol....nothing. He was worried.
He started walking. He began with a half mile a day. Then a mile, then two. He began walking longer distances because he enjoyed it.
Within three months, his blood pressure was in the normal range. Mind you, he continued his medication and good diet. He was not much overweight, but from walking he also became quite trim. For Tom, walking helped where nothing else did.

Hi, I used Anulom vinom pranayama to stabilise my high blood pressure.Search on Swami Ramdev's site for this.He states one needs to do this using full lung breathing to get oxygen into the body.Worked for me using it only 10 minutes a day for 1 week. L&L Dave |

Thanks comsic for your blessings to recover. Walking I just do around 15 minutes of walk but will try to increase the timming/distance.

Dave did this pranayama stabilise the bp for you.I just had a look at those videos on youtube.Thanks for this one.he says anulom vinlom for 15minutes...well I'll try this one out along with walking and some asanas told by Carson.
