BARGAIN
I'd gladly lose me to find you I'd gladly give up all I had To find you, I'd suffer anything And be glad.
I'd pay any price just to get you I'd work all my life and I will To win you, I'd stand naked, stoned, and stabbed.
I'd call that a bargain The best I ever had Best I ever had.
I'd gladly lose me to find you I'd gladly give up all I got To catch you, I'm gonna run And never stop.
I'd pay any price just to win you Surrender my good life for bad. To find you, I'm gonna drown an unsung man.
I'd call that a bargain The best I ever had Best I ever had.
I sit looking 'round I look at my face in the mirror I know I'm worth nothing Without you.
In life, one and one don't make two
One and one make one
And I'm looking for That free ride to me
I'm looking for you Looking for you.
I'd gladly lose me to find you I'd gladly give up all I got To catch you, I'm gonna run And never stop. I'd pay any price just to win you Surrender my good life for bad. To find you, I'm gonna drown an unsung man.
I'd call that a bargain The best I ever had.
The best I ever had! **
BARGAIN Video.
Many people know Bargain as a song by The Who -- as it was, and is; however, it was originally written by The Who guitarist Pete Townshend, for his guru (Meher Baba), and the attitudes elicited by Pete's tasting of the One (which is why I linked the video version above {Pete Townshend} .. rather than a version by The Who, with Roger Daltrey singing -- Pete's performances radiate his genuine Bhakt' n' Roll spirit, in a way The Who versions can't quite manage ... and so, for me, Townsend's versions are more powerful/enjoyable.)
As many AYPers understand/experience, the guru is not a person, but a principle (i.e. "The Guru Is In You." ~Yogani) .. the highest awareness which removes the distortions of the artificial thought-self -- which is why gurus often have names reflective of this principle which is emanating from/as All -- Meher Baba, for instance, means "Compassionate Father".
I like Bargain .. it's a good song .... and, I admire Pete's ability to convey his sentiments subtly; if I ever write a song about the results of AYP for me ... I don't know that I'll be able to hold back quite as much as Pete does.
As In:
"I gave everything for this -- and still I laughingly wonder how it could have been so cheap." ~Adyashanti
A handful of years. A small time investment in daily practices. A wealth of free information and spiritual community available at this site, completely free. Everything I thought I was. Everything I thought I knew. Everything I thought.
& In Return:
Liberation. Wholeness. Ever-Renewing Divine LOVING Pouring Out-In. Peace Beyond Understanding. Freedom Beyond Imagination. KNOWING LIVING UNBOUND
I call that a bargain.
The best I've ever had.

That's really lovely K-man, I didn't know that about Pete Townshend and his Guru Meher Baba. I didn't even know his Guru is Meher Baba. I've always liked that song. Thank you for sharing that.
