It is very hard for me to share the crud I write...but in the issue of "getting over it" here I go... **********
Surely loves passion will consume me; its joyous angst twists and burns stealing from me the very poison on which I live. Until like the drops from a wound that is bleeding, my soul weeps in your light and I fall to my knees to beg of thee do as you see fit; for how can I stand in your presence when you love me so?
That's right up there with St. Theresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross and Rumi.
They also felt it to be a feeble expression while writing their stuff. Yet, we are still reading it hundreds of years later, and new divine odes like yours too. Thank you...
Amazing! Envy is supposed to be a sign of weakness, yet as a songwriter I am humbled by your way with words. I suppose that the reason that I have not achieved this level of literacy is that perhaps I still have my guard up.
Thanks for inadvertantly pointing that out for me. Paul
A wonderful, wonderful poem. Paula, far from it being crud, it's in fact a hard act to follow --- if you continue to put up stuff like that, we'll all be afraid to put anything else up.
