Hello
I had an interesting experience. Whether you know or not, for the past week or two I have been having random headaches and "heady" symptoms after an intense meditation session. The headaches seem to be gone for the most part, but now I am experiencing a lot of facial tension and TMJ tightness - not something I usually experience. I also have been feeling "too much in my head" and feel that the energy is up there quite a bit. I am not Kundalini sensitive, so it's no dramatic K experiences, just intuition and symptoms. Too much thinking, feeling poorly grounded, face/head tension.
I was also experimenting with tantric breathing and masturbation before all that and was experiencing great things from it. No big whole-body orgasms or anything - just feeling more grounded and feeling like the lower centers of my body were opening up a bit (they seem very closed usually). I had to stop that for certain non-yogic health reasons. Then the headache stuff happened, but I was not really able to use my solo practices, though I figured they would probably help divert energy to the lower centers.
Well, today I was able to do them again. My face and TMJ problems seem to be at their peak! Nothing I can do will help - asanas and pranayama don't, and in fact meditation makes it worse, for some reason my face and jaw really wants to tense up! I have to really focus on letting it loose.
Anyway, so I did a solo practice today and eventually let myself ejaculate, which I haven't done in a while, maybe a week or so. I usually end up doing it one way or another once a week. Well, I tried to really stay present during the orgasm and felt a line of heat shoot down the middle of my belly. Afterwards, I felt great relief from my face symptoms and also feel more grounded and less "in my head". Usually I feel guilt after ejaculation because I am afraid it will ruin my chance to feel kundalini, but this time I felt like it helped. The face tension is back a little, but I can't help but feel that ejaculating helped a bit.
So my question is: are there times and circumstances in one's path that ejaculating is still appropriate and helpful? If I don't do it to porn or other non-mindful things and keep my intentions spiritual then I do not notice any real energy drains or anything negative. I still try to keep it once a week though. Is it possible that for some people who already are too head-centered that if they are still pre-kundalini that it may be disruptive to not ejaculate at all? Perhaps it leads to displacement of energy. |

Hi Anthony!
I'm no authority on any of this, but I will give you my opinion.

Yes I think so...Excessive energy in the head is probably one of those times when it is appropriate...expecially when SBP and such are aggravating it and not helping. Ejaculation, working out, anything that can help pull the energy down is probably a good idea.

I think that there is potential that this could be true. For some, me included, I think that not ejaculating over long periods of time tends to increase the spiritual energy (wherever it may be located in any certain individual). For myself I definitely need a lot less sleep now that I stay pre-orgasmic (usually go at least a month at a time without external orgasm) and I have a lot more energy...even if I don't do any practices for self-pacing reasons. I find that I am much more sensitive to my internal energies now that I do not have regular external orgasms. I think it is probably safe to say that for many practitioners the occassional orgasm can be a good thing and for you it almost seems essential. Best of luck my friend!

I certainly noticed a difference in the rest of the day, and also I haven't been working out regularly and I did tonight and it helped as well.
It is an odd thing - though I would not consider myself to be sensitive to the sensations of inner energies it seems that I am becoming more attuned to the accepted and intuitive "symptoms" of energy activity and how different things affect it. Pretty neat. |
