Hi! I was wondering if anyone experienced spontaneous bastrika during the day. Recently I am having this - something like a cramp of the diaphragm forces air out of my lungs. Either that or muscle cramps in different parts of the body or my torso shakes or vibrates for a little while. It is nothing big or extraordinary but I am curious if there are others experiencing the same.

Hi Lili;
I have been experiencing this moreso during meditation rather than during the day. I will get a flutter in the chest area or a shoulder or the belly. Not a vibration actually, but more a ripple for a few seconds (or longer) than it dissipates. I just keep going.

This is pretty common in samyama also. It can break out into full blown automatic panting sometimes, especially during the "akasha - lightness of air" sutra. See http://www.aypsite.org/150.html about 3/4 of the way down. Something good is happening!

See here too, about 1/2 way down: http://www.aypsite.org/210.html
