It's been great sharing this forum with all of you. Today I got bad news from my doctor that I'd like to share. I have terminal dribbling.

The good news is I'll live. The bad news is that I have the urinary function of an 86 year old man. What was once a torrent has declined into a tepid drain followed by nearly endless dripping. Lovely image, no? Picture me in flannel bathrobe and really repulsive slippers. It's not true, but it conveys the appropriate image.

This is a classic sign of prostate problems, but a most enjoyable prostate examination revealed that my gland is immaculate. My doctor is stumped. And whenever my doctor is stumped, and has that "I've never seen this before" look on her face, I start looking to yoga for the source of the issue.

I've long had a blocked front channel, though I've managed to pry it open in the past few months. It's made no difference. Any other ideas out there? Not looking for medical suggestions (my doctor will send me to a specialist if I want, and I think I want, so medical stuff will be covered by medical folks). Just wondering if anyone's experienced or read about similar symptoms from spiritual practice.

What happens, when you drink a lot and consequently have a very full bladder ?
Do you feel the pressure but still the urine only dribbles ?

It only dribbles near the end (but interminably). Before that, a weak stream and rarely a full flow (including very full bladder).

Just to restate...the medical side will be addressed by a specialist (though my GP is mystified). I'm mostly wondering if anyone's heard of a yoga/kundalini/blockage issue that might lead to this symptom.

Sorry to hear about your condition Jim.
Just wondering, do you practice the Tantric holdback method of non-ejaculation? If so, how long have you been practicing?
with Peace,
Paul

Jim, partly blocked root chakra or next one up,gives me back pain and sometimes urine probs when back inflamed and when sexually stimulated which causes sacroilliac probs,so i still think its spiritually related.

Hi Jim

There certainly seems to be a blockage.

First inner response to your post:

Since urethra is quietly "crying"......have you considered emotional blockage? Something you are holding back.....putting a lid on?

During the years as a homeopath I would once in a while run into patients who were vicariously "crying" or "dripping" involuntary. Either from eyes (constant lachrymation without consciously crying) or from urethra. They all had emotional....issues underlying the condition. We adressed these, and the dripping disappeared.

All the best
Katrine

Paul, I mostly don't orgasm, but when I do, I use Mantak Chia's "big draw" method, which consists essentially of a super deep "up" spinal breath at the moment of orgasm. I used to be able to do vajroli mudra, but lost the ability, but it's ok 'cuz I find simply drawing up the prana conserves much of the energy....probably only because I've been doing Taoist practices for decades, which in conjunction with my AYP experience means I can draw far more intensely and thoroughly than a less experienced practitioner. Not sure that helps, but that's the deal....

Snake, can root chakra be blocked if kundalini is enduringly awake? also, question: is your back pain at the kidneys? If so, I might be able to help.

Undoubtedly! I doubt there's a human being on the planet for whom this isn't true, and I'm no exception!

Not sure I made this clear...I'm not incontinent. I'm refering to reduced flow (and endless terminal dribbling) upon normal urination.

Also to make clear...I was being sarcastic about the "enjoyable" prostate exam. For me, it's akin to torture, but apparently, some people actually do find that sort of thing enjoyable. Different strokes, etc...

Hi Jim:

There is a relationship between kundalini awakening, urination patterns, and the natural internal evolution of amaroli (recycling of urine in the body) and vajroli (drawing up of sexual essences). It is discussed in the Diet, Shatkarmas and Amaroli book.

Someday science will gets its arms around this.

I am not saying that this is your issue -- only a possible connection. An FYI...

The guru is in you.

Hi Jim,
Not sure if an energy block as in backache is kundalini(isnt all energy kundalini)? blockage or not.

My backache seems to be not in the kidneys but lower spine and sacro area and it always precedes a panic attack ,which I see as enegy not getting to the brain properly, hmmm

Jim,

If this began to happen to me, I personally would try ejaculating for a while. It certainly isn't going to hurt you. I find that it is the quickest way to lower energy levels. It may help balance the energies down there. We are not full-time yogi's and living in the busy worklife can add resistance to our inner energies. AYP's are raising the levels of our inner energies. Tantra practices IMHO are a very advanced practice.

Also, I can feel excessive kundalini go up my spine whenever I urinate. I asked Yogai about this back in the lessons. http://www.aypsite.org/T13.html Yogani explained that kundalini energy is stimulated by urination sending energy through the prostate and up the spine.

You are going to get through this. Keep us posted on your progress.
With Peace and Support,
Paul

Thanks, Yogani.

Snake, I don't pretend to understand what kundalini is. But like the Supreme Court and pornography...I know it when I see it. And it sure feels different. On the other hand, a daisy seems different from a pretzel, though both are God. So if you want to pull the camera back to the vantage point of unity, sure, all energy is kundalini. But for purposes of living in this world, there's a biiig diff. Which, again, I'd have trouble defining. But it's clear. Unlike this paragraph :)

Paul, I appreciate your concern, but I'm not quite sure what you're concerned about. My energy level is quite high, kundalini has been wide awake for some years, but I'm fine, with no energy overload symptoms. And the urinary thing isn't any kind of life problem...I'd just like to get to the bottom of what's causing it, in case there's an issue I need to pay attention to. I'm definitely going to read Yogani's new diet/amaroli book and get the details there. He's writing/publishing books faster than I can read them!!

Jim,

I too have bladder control problems. I would welcome any possible solutions. Would long-term amaroli practitioners be willing to comment here?

Sorry, hopeless. Hope you find a solution.

But for the record, I'm not having bladder control problems. I guess I didn't make myself clear: urination (normal urination, like in the bathroom, not while in, say, a movie theater or hardware store) is weaker flow than in past, and at the end of that normal urination (still in the bathroom...not any other room), the weak flow devolves into a series of drips that seems to take forever to subside (hence the term - which is an actual medical term - "terminal dribbling"). It doesn't continue outside the bathroom.

Anyway, I've read Yoganji's book, and all these years of various permutations of vajroli mudra plus the recycling do make sense to explain the reduced flow, but not so much for the dribbling. I'll hit a urologist. Thanks, all.

Lots of kids try to "hack" their energy. This generally stops after childhood. And that observation, combined with the teaching that one must be like a small child to enter the kingdom of heaven, is what spurred me to notice and post this: http://www.aypsite.org/forum/topic....OPIC_ID=2886

But there's a difference between an experience of some shivers/currents and a full kundalini opening. The textbook description ("it's like every cell in your body is having an orgasm") applies. Shivers and such are foreshadowings.

Thanks for asking, Chiron.

I have a constellation of symptoms, and they're all getting better as my front channel opens (same as saying as my energy grounds). There's been just tremendous opening in the past couple of months, and lots of little things are getting better. It took years to strike upon the right strategy, and things were getting a little scary there for a minute. But the combo of Chinese herbs and the neck dilation discussed in the thread linked below have fixed things a lot:
