First, thanks to Yogani for nice, compact kit.
There are two asanas which are mysterious to me. I don't know what they are for.
First, 'kneeling seat'
second, 'abdominal lift' I'm guessing this for directing the kundalini upwards?

Kneeling seat for my tends to be a very nice and relaxing pose, kind of a time to get centered in the series. Also, I like to take that time to really focus my breathing, though Yogani does not mention breathing in the asanas.
Ab lift is actually similar to a bandha/mudra (cant remember which) in which you suck your belly inward, it is supposed to cultivate more energy...similar to mulabandha. It is also very good and conducive to digestion :) |

Hi Atena, The main benefit of Kneeling Seat OR Vajrasana is digestion. Here are some other benefits http://www.healthandyoga.com/html/y...ajrasana.asp . You can google Vajrasana to find more info on it.

You are guessing right.. The Abdominal Lift or Uddiyana Bandha.... quote: Page 60 of Asanas, Mudras and Bandhas Uddiyana means to fly up, which will become apparent to many as soon as the practice is used. The inner energy literally flies up!
There are other benefits: quote: http://www.wikihealth.com/Uddiyana_bandha Benefits of Uddiyana: This breathing practice can be strenuous and energizing. It tones, cleanses and massages the internal digestive organs- leading to healthier digestion. In yoga, engaging this bandha increases the power of the core. Thus, it becomes easier to hold many postures such as balancing postures like Ardha chandrasana- balancing half-moon and arm balances like bakasana- crow pose.
Hope this helps.

Hi Anthony, Yogani does talk about breathing in the Asana book.. though it is not in a very clear prominent place
