54 From: "liz" <eac3@btinternet.com> Date: Sat Mar 5, 2005 0:08pm Subject: fire below ! peter6259 Send IM Send Email I have been practising yoga, self healing and meditation with the usual highs and lows and in betweens due to herniated disc , frozen shoulder , locked kness yada, yada ,yada and so on having to heal but in the last few days i have realized that a tightness exists in the anal area which impedes lumbar relaxation . When menopause started this showed up as burning in the area and itching which years later still occurs at times . During an 'aha ' moment at yoga class i asked about whether this muscle should be relaxed and realized mine was not .It seems to link to childbirth many years ago and being told to breathe into my bottom and at that point due to pain everything just clenched . Its linked to the the episiotomy area and back to anus and into lumbar .So the real question is how to let go ...which moves help ? Whilst here discussing my bits and pieces i would like to wish us all great love and excellent progress on our journey of self rediscovery .Love liz 62 From: "Georgia Victoria Weinkauf" <sss3333nnn@yahoo.com> Date: Sun Mar 6, 2005 2:47am Subject: Re: fire below ! sss3333nnn Offline Send Email Hello,
As an inactive Registered Nurse, the 1st thing that came to me was; why not try gentle massage with almond oil and soothing warm baths to loosen the perineum area? And practice contracting/loosening these muscles daily while doing other activities? Asanas? How about simple toe-touching while standing with feet slightly spread apart? Or, sit on floor with legs apart, inhale, and upon exhalation, try to touch head to floor? I would think any movement where you feel a slight stretching of these muscles would be good, but start slowly, and build flexibility in this region.

Offline Send Email Dear Liz, If there is trauma held in an area of the body, it can very helpful to breathe awareness and energy in and out of that area repeatedly in order to clear the energetic and emotional blockages. Sometimes when doing this, people find that it might restimulate the emotions that are held in that area. From my perspective, this is a good thing, as it can trigger a release that will resolve the energetic holding. The holding is not unlike a skip in an LP record, only the recording and memory device is the body energetic.. When you focus energy and awareness there, the psyche unravels the holding pattern, setting it free so new energetic patterns can be created and maintained. Maintaining a attitude of loving kindness while performing the pranayam is important, particulary when releasing trauma, as the part of the psyche that has been mantaining the contraction is probably experiencing some fear, and that attitude is so helpful to create safety for release.
I hope this is helpful. warm regards, Sylvia Brallier

I understand what you are referring to about the emotions and will be glad to let them go . I did have dreams recently which now make more sense .Its amazing how some dreams do try to tell us but it takes time to unravel some of them .It took some time to work out one with a plate and a horse round it was my cauda equina being inflamed ! I have been years unwinding my body now but it feels well worth it as i am now able to sit upright for the first time in years without pain and i fully intend to keep all my reclaimed areas .This is a supportive group and i feel very grateful to have a safe place to discuss energy challenges . Many thanks all.love liz

Offline Send Email Dear Richard, Thanks for pointing out the Hermetic and Kabalistic techniques of Franz Bardon. Many of the techniques are very powerful and worthy of consideration. For those who are interested, there is a great deal of information to be had at this site: http://www.abardoncompanion.com/Arc...s-Links.html More specifically about pore breathing at: http://www.plotinus.com/exercise_breathing3_copy(1).htm By my understanding, the pore breathing technique is performed specifically for the awakening of consciousness, not the purification of the vehicle. The technique is performed /visualized throughout the body simultaneously, as opposed to focusing on specific locations.
The technique I shared with Liz is one I came up with as a result of some Kriya yoga practices that I have been performing for quite a while. I have found that breathing in and out of the chakras and /or areas of distress to be of enormous benefit to spiritual and emotional growth, as well as physical health. Just as a point of clarification, I perform the pranayama in and out of the nose. Different positions of the tongue on the palate, as well as adding the root and chin locks can add some permutations to how the energy flows, as well as increasing the strength and over all efficacy of the technique. I might add though, that if you are doing emotional release work, I suggest only gentle and /or intermittent (with the breath) application of the locks, particularly the chin lock, if the locks are used at all. warm regards,
