"The Lost Tomb of Jesus"
A DVD you can rent, a James Cameron film.
I fully expected to get bored halfway through this, but it turned out to be a good film. Using a lot of forensics, statistics, etc, they discovered what is most likely the tomb of Jesus.
But what makes the film surprising is that it is of his entire family; his bones were still there (since then they re-buried them in another spot), next to him was mary magdalene, his brothers, and his son!
The film tells the story about how all of this is quite possible and probable. Mary Magdalene was revered as the founder of christianity and was written about in canons that were later discarded when only men were allowed priesthood. There is a passage in the bible indicating Jesus had brothers. Also, if he had a son, it would have been wise to conceal it to protect his life after the crucifiction.
Of course many christians would say it's impossible because his tomb was found empty as he resurrected. This would indicate that he only resurrected in spirit as jesus said all of us would, and that he was just an ordinary man who did extraordinary things.
It fits in completely with my beliefs about Jesus.
It's nice that the film is not biased. They say there is a high probability that it is Jesus of Nazareth and show how, but don't say it is for sure.
