What is Shaktipat? Is it necessary at some point to receive shaktipat before one can experience samadhi?

Shaktipat means direct transmission of spiritual energy from a guru to a student. No, it is not necessary for experiencing samadhi. We are fortunate that we live in an age where spiritual energy is increasing, and is all around us.The best way to become enlightened is by doing daily yoga practices.
