And it's one of those "experiences" that AYP warns is not essential to the journey (it's just passing scenery), but I find that......well, i'll let you draw your own conclusions...if it works for you.
Lie flat on your back on a soft surface (bed is perfect). And focus awareness on the fact that much of your body weight is resting on a bunch of hard, bony projections (your vertebrae). And note that, oddly, you are ENJOYING this, much as a fakir enjoys lying on a bed of nails.
Concentrate on that enjoyment, and amplify it in each individual vertabra, working up, all the way to your neck (and further up than that....read my "poor man's kechari mudra" posting).
