Hello all, I sometimes feel like doing an extra practice session between my routine morning and evening sessions, but I'm hesitant from past experiences with energtic overload.
I'm wondering if there's a difference between overload from energy practices (SBP, mudras etc.) and overload from too much meditation.
Would it be 'safer' to just do some DM and perhaps samyama or is it best to do another full routine?
Any thoughts would be appreciated:) |

I am of the belief you allow Bhakti to push up against your boundaries gently, and dial back just as gently. Quite often when it is feasible, I will close my eyes, go silent and slow down my breathing, if the mantra shows up, so be it. If you are doing your twice daily twenty minutes, and wish to introduce another five or ten minutes here or there, that would be a worthwhile practice to investigate |

Hi George,
Generally energetic practices such as pranayama and mudras and bandhas are more stimulating than practices such as meditation and Samyama. If you are concerned about energetic overload then you could reduce the timing for your pranayama practices and reduce any mudras and bandhas that you are using. That way you would come to a more stable and balanced practice where energetic overload is not a concern.
Then, if you have some time where you are free of responsibilities such as work or child care, and you want to increase to three sessions a day, you can do, using the same practices for all three sessions.
Increasing your regular Deep Meditation timing from 20 minutes to 25 minutes would be another way of increasing your practice without increasing the more direct energy stimulating practices. |

Thank you, it seems just a little more DM may do the trick :) |

Dear George,
Tip: Overloading from DM comes in the form of feeling unable to focus on your daily activity, cottony in the head and tiredness.
