I’m new here and this forum said: “Newcomer Questions Welcome” so here I am.
I am a long time meditator and have been practicing AYP since November 2022 with twice daily Pranayama and DM.
I have noted at times I feel a very strong heartbeat. -(No cardiac issues healthwise)
I have no irritability. In fact I sing happy songs and do my happy dance more in the past few months than in the past couple year. And life is rolling along quite nicely and I look forward to my daily practice and actually miss it if my schedule is off and I wind up doing it late.
My only concern is the heartbeat pounding in my chest that makes me take note. I can never predict when it’s gonna happen. I don’t know the actual beat rate..it’s just noticeably strong and forceful but lasts minutes and not hours. No pain, just strong throbs.
I can’t say it has me fearful but I am definitely curious. I am not fearful because... oddly... I can control it. I notice it mostly when I’m lying prone. I find I can manage it by sitting up and mindfully focusing on my breath. It alleviates easily in this way.
So, maybe this is not due to any super sensitivity?
I don’t feel like I’m over-doing anything.
I’ve never experienced BLISS so don’t know if this might actually be a precursor?
Yes, the heart beat can speed up and slow down during practices. This can also happen outside of practice times. It can also feel stronger, or weaker at times as well. It is nothing to be concerned about. It is related to the heart chakra opening.
It is a pre-cursor to the experience of unconditional love.
