Is the Akasha an element, the quintessence of the classic four elements? Does it have creative dynamics such that when we put an idea into the silence there then that tends to manifest or a cognitive one where the said idea's truth is realized? Maybe its a doorway between the elements and inner silence? Just trying to get a clearer picture. Thanks Bill
Akasha means inner space (in us and everywhere). Regarding it as the realm/element between materiality and inner silence is pretty accurate.
Akasha is what is manifest out of stillness before anything else is manifest. It is the emptiness that is behind the appearance of all things (verified by modern physics). When we come to know this via human spiritual transformation (the neurobiological process leading to refined inner sensory perception), the solidity of all things is perceived to be porous and luminous with the outflowing of divine love from omnipresent inner silence, which is our Self.
We can use akasha in samyama to help promote this awakening. See lesson 150 and beyond. The Samyama book coming out this month will delve further into practical applications of this, well beyond what we have discussed so far.
Yogani, Thank you for your reply. I have a much better picture and understanding, which I can drop into the akasha. Let it go! Maybe something will bounce back.
