At the end of my practice I always sing Mantras (Like Gayatri, Purnamadah Purnamidam) to finish my practice. I do it after ...Meditation, Samyama and Yoni Mudra.
While Samyama practice feels very "merging into oneness" to me, the mantra singing is - besides the fun of singing - very grounding. I'm not saying this would replace lying down after the practice, but it seems to have a similar effect on me.
Anyone has a similar experience or wants to share something on that? :)
I like singing as a form of Grounding, or screaming if you will. I used to do it right after practice. I would not do it before resting though. Viva the AYP structure :)
