1. What are your symptoms and how long have you had them? Are your symptoms primarily physical, psychological, or both?
I just started having symptoms about a week now. Im having both types if symptoms, I feel a burning sensation pulse up my body it seems start from my lower body and push itseld upwards, as it goes through my stomach the burning intensifies sometimes and I sometimes get strong anxiety. It continues up into my chest, throat and neck. I get aniexty sometimes when it is in my chest. My nerves all over also become very sensitive during this process and sometimes is coupled with anxiety. I have had moments of strong bliss and gratitude as well when the feeling subsides, not all the time, seems rare and it doesnt last too long maybe about an hr or more. These symptoms cycle thoroughout the day sometimes with feeling just a general restlessness in my mind and body.
I had very serious tremors the other night coupled with intense anxiety almost provoking a panic attack, when the burning feeling subsides I feel tingling all over.
Ive also have had increased gas symptoms although I have been kinda gassy for a while but now it comes out more.
Also I have had tension in my left arm and the back kn my neck, which also was there before all of this I have maybe an increased awareness of it?
Lastly I do randomly get shortness of breath and increased heart rate, im not sure as to why. I also find the I have a lost od built of tension In parts of my body specifically my knees and shoulders. I do relax them when I become are I am being tense.
Tho these sound bad I am generally in a good mood and excited about my metamorphosis but would definitely like help dealing with the anxiety as it is the toughest part of the experience and sometimes leaving me with a slight feeling of psychosis. Although reading helps ground my mind as well as writing.
2. Are your symptoms ongoing, or intermittent? If intermittent, when are they most likely to occur -- during what kind of activity and/or time of the day? Is your sleep affected? They are intermittent but seem to occupy most of the day making it feel ongoing. They occur more intensely when I contemplate a recent lsd trip in which I saw the lighy of God or source (which was accompanied by a beautiful sri yantra) the aniexty seema to linger until I shift my attention to something else but it becomes hard because my thoughts start to spiral into negative thoughts that I try and control. So far they seem to happen during early morning or a nighy before bed. My sleep is slightly affected. I cannot completely tell for it is actually easy for me to rest but I have recently stop smoking marijuana(which I believe had contribution to my awakening process) because of the aniexty and I am getting back into a groove of sober sleeping patterns I have never been the best sleeper though.
3. Do you consider your situation with kundalini to be the result of spiritual practices, or do you regard it to be spontaneous? It seems to be the combination of yoga practices I started about a yr ago but i havent been consistent, i really hadnt done much since i first started at that time I did basic exercises i found on youtube, changed my diet as well then, I had similar symptoms during thay timw as well but much more minor.
Since then I have practiced maybe 1 or twice a month in no particular order just when i have found the motivation to do it.
I do believe my recent and 1st LSD trip sparked as I felt these symptoms during the trip, I also saw on my trip my pineal, throat and heart chakras open? Im.not sure but i for sure saw them, they were beautiful but I stopped the mental process of seeing them while on the trip because I became worried it would never end. I now know i shouldve relaxed and allow things to happen.
4. What sort of spiritual practices have you been engaged in, if any? How long? How often? Are you aware that excessive spiritual practice can aggravate kundalini, often with a delayed reaction? Grew up very Christian and was very devout until about 2yrs ago when my mind was opened to new age spirituality. Since then the most i have done was meditate(a handful of times) and practiced yoga. Since my lsd trip (about 2 weeks ago btw) I have been more into prayer and yoga. I feel like my mind automatically meditates when i relax and be in the moment. I believe all religions are one and cultural ways of honoring God or source.
5. Do you consider yourself to be “sensitive” to spiritual practices? If so, with what practices, and what sort of measures have you taken to accommodate your sensitivity? Im not necessarily sensitive to it but I have always been deeply spiritual, looking at life through a spiritual amd energetic lens first. Since my LSD trip my over all sensitivity to everything both emotional and mental has increased a lot.
6. Do you think drugs have contributed to your kundalini situation? Plants, yes, I have tried "drugs" in the past like xanax or percocets but only recreationally and rarely none recently in the past 6montha to a yr. I have though been a heavy marijuana smoker up until my LSD trip which has made me want to quit, partially because of the aniexty.
7. Have you experienced traumatic events in your life that may have a bearing on your current symptoms? Not necessarily though I did have a very unhealthy relationship with my ex gf though we loved each other very much we fought a lot and I could feel in my stomach when she was mad at me. Other than thay nothing seriously traumatic, maybe bouts of depression feom not completeing goals I had set for myself but I feel like everyone has felt that way.
8. Is your sexual lifestyle affecting your symptoms? Are you aware that obsessively limiting sexual release can increase kundalini energy and symptoms? I'll be honest here for my personal health and say I had a porn addiction and masturbated often until my recent lsd trip which has given me control over the desire. No I wasnt aware, does thia mean I cannot have sex at all during this process or I should do it sparingly.
9. What is your general diet? Are you aware that a lighter diet can stimulate kundalini? I had poor diet though I have been trying to practice veganism over the past yr but since the kundalini experience started about a week now, Ive only wanted to eat veggies and fruit and I fasted the first 2 days, simply because I could not eat and I still find it a bit hard to eat especially while experiencing the symptoms listed above.
10. Do you engage in moderate exercise regularly, like walking, yard work, etc? Are you aware that regular exercise can help stabilize ("ground") kundalini symptoms? Here and there I have increased since my lsd trip and have been doing the yoga, going for a run an a general workout. I just started back from probably about a 4-5 month hiatus (lazy).
11. Are you a highly devotional person? Are you aware that excessive devotional activity, satsang or spiritual study can aggravate an active kundalini? I do study a lot of spirituality daily from general videos to reading books but reading seems to help my symptoms though contemplating what I learnes seems to increase the feelings. No I wasnt aware and am very curious as to why, if anyone knows.
12. Are you engaged in ordinary daily activities like a job, school, family, parenting, social activity, service to others? Are you aware that such activities, undertaken without spiritual intention or expectations, can help ground excessive kundalini energies? Not as much. I recently had to quit my job. I do make music and am involved with groups centered around music but i do find it hard to make music especially while feeling the anxious symptoms listed above as they seem to direct my thoughts even when I consciously try n think positive.
13. Have you been examined and treated by a medical doctor or mental health professional for your symptoms in the past? If so, what was the result? No I havent,I qould prefer to stay away from mainstream health professionals thay may not truly understand what I am going though. I am generally against prescription medicine.
14. Are there other factors and/or measures you are taking in relation to your situation that are not covered above? Not really, I recently had an breakup which triggers my anxiety sometimes.
15. Optional: What is your approximate age (teen, 20s, 30s, 40s, etc.)? What is your gender? We ask because the manifestation of kundalini symptoms can be affected by these factors I'm 25 a cuban/African American male.
All help is very much appreciated, I would definitely like to hear from those who have completed the process so that I may truly trust you input without doubt. I would also like if someone experienced in this field could take my number that I may speak with them time to time especially when things seem to get hard. I have contemplated suicide before I knew what was going on as I associated everything with the lsd. I don't have anyone on myside that I can really talk to in detail about these things that wouldnt input their negative thoughts and opinion. I am generally strong willed mentally and sometimes just need reassurance and comfort during the process.
Thank you for all who read with intent of love and compassion.
I bless this post to attract the wise and loving those who will help with a heart and mind full of light that I may receive true guidance and they may be blessed for being a loving teacher. May all who read be comforted and uplifted with love light and peace.
I love you all we are one and one is all.
God is with you.

Hey K sorry to read about your difficulties...
first you should take a look at the following lesson :
https://www.aypsite.org/69.html
There you find ways to cope with the symptoms - "grounding" activities like long walks, social interaction, service like helping a friend, heavier diet... you should stop all spiritual practices (like the basic youtube yoga exercises you mentioned) including reading spiritual lecture... when you feel stable again you can start reading the lessons here - they cover a wide range of yogic knowledge so you can set a foundation of understanding on which you can slowly built up a self-paced practice...regarding the point on sexual lifestyle: no you don't need to stop having sex - in fact limiting sexual release can aggravate the condition. Just allow the natural urge. So no need to become celibate...
On your suicidal thoughts: It's helpful to talk to someone. I'm sure you have at least some anonymous hotline in your country. Also keep posting here in the forums. Don't forget - the condition you are in is temporary and there are always ways to deal with it.

Hello Kingeboyd,
Welcome to the AYP forum.
Sorry to hear that you are going through hard times. Unfortunately, it is difficult to give you any advice since you have been taking drugs. Your symptoms could be or could not be kundalini-related.
It is not recommended to take drugs in general as you probably know. Because it doesn't lead very far (usually to some temporary fun and joy) and because it creates more problems. But it is really appealing. We usually start doing drugs in an attempt to find happiness. So the intention is pure. That's a good thing. But what seems to be a shortcut might be a dead end. I think you are realising it for the better. Which is the second good thing.
Drugs can badly damage your subtle nervous system while yoga is the opposite: it cleans the subtle nervous system. So they don't really go together.
The fact that you are not practising much yoga and still could be experiencing kundalini is not unusual. Because we are all different and it all depends on how obstructed or not is our nervous system.
AYP is a long term process, but it is safe and the transformation taking place inside you will be permanent.
So first of all, my advice of course would be to stop taking drugs and start to meditate until you are stable, physically and emotionnally. Start from lesson 10 and only move on to the first pranayama if you are stable.
You could have some grounding activities meanwhile like physical activity, anything that you feel that is grounding.
I don't know if you are aware of this but, when we take drugs, the toxins get stuck in the fat cells. So when you fast, and your body gets that stock to use it, the toxins come back into the blood and you might feel the effects of the drugs again. Be aware of that.
Take care of yourself.
I wish you the best :)

Thank you for your beautiful responses! I am definitely feeling a lot more stable. I have continued practice of the yoga and some spritual readings as well as a health diet an exercise. I feel very great and and filled with intense gratitude for life. I still feel the energy coming and transforming me and I have been able to more and more focus on the feeling of love and light and I can feel it transforming my entire being for the better. No it is not all easy, but doing things like visualizing the aniexty evaporating from my being and visualizing being made of love and light are helping tremendously.
If symptoms that I am unable to balance arise I will return for more assistance and guidance but I am learning to trust myself for doubt and hesitation are to me manifestions of fear and anxiety.
The Grace of God, source creator, mother-father, love and light is with me and through that I find I am able ton conquer all I experience.
I pray that the same grace be with you all who read and respond.
It is so. |

Hi Kingeboyd,
I am glad to read you are more stable :) I forgot to mention that you can use a pranayama before your meditation practice that is called Alternate Nostril Breathing (ANB) (or Nadi Shodhana in Sanskrit). It is very efficient to deal with anxiety as well, and you can use it anytime during the day. You will find the information here:
https://www.aypsite.org/41.html
https://www.aypsite.org/381.html
If you feel that Deep Meditation (mantra meditation) is too strong, you can also switch to Breath based meditation.
https://www.aypsite.org/367.html https://www.aypsite.org/425.html
This is part of what we call self-pacing here: Adapting your practices and activities according to your inner condition on the spiritual path. Understanding that sometimes doing less is doing more.
One last point I would like to mention is that, beautiful experiences as you are describing are part of the journey but are not what brings us to enlightenment. We can enjoy them for a while but always remembering that what leads to enlightenment is daily and effective practice of meditation.
https://www.aypsite.org/94.html
Hope this will help you to have a better understanding of it.
Warm wishes,
luce |
