Hi everybody,

I've been meditating, almost every day, since October 2014. I've reached the point where I'm quite addicted to it. However, in all that time, I never bothered to read anything about meditation or yoga, or get in touch with another person who meditates. This is my first attempt to do so. I guess, I wanted my own experience with it, uninfluenced by suggestions or dogmas from others.
Anyway, I'm beginning to be freaked out by some of the sensations I've been having while meditating. My head tilts backwards involuntary, my mouth opens wide involuntary, my eyes too and my vision goes blurry. This is accompanied with waves of "energy" throughout my body, especially my scull, and sweet tension on my forehead. I also get gentle thoughts about myself and my past and of some "divine presence".
Am I going bonkers, or is this usual?

Welcome to the forum. This is usual. If you tell your method of meditation, we can suggest corrective measures. If you want to follow the AYP system, the lessons are available in this site.

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it it.
The way I get into the meditative state is by avoiding thinking by concentrating on my breathing, surrounding sounds, parts of my body, the contact between my feet and the ground etc. I've been doing it for so long that now I don't even have to try to do it.

Dear Glaurung,

Just confirming what Jusmail said - this is indeed usual. Shows good things are happening.
