Hello dear friends,
as every year, Jaggi Vasudev also known as Sadhguru will celebrate the night of Shiva, in which Shiva started to teach Yoga.
The thread of the last two years contains all the links, which are still active and relevant: http://www.aypsite.org/forum/topic....PIC_ID=14069
This year Sadhguru has added an enhanced preparational sadhana including some hatha yoga, mantra chanting and ceremony. Last year it was only some ceremony and mantra chanting, this time a Shiva Namaskar has been added.
Last year I only did (some days before) the mantra chanting few times per day. Two days before the event then had an interesting experience with Sadhguru. While chanting and sitting still for some minutes, his face appeared in my brain and it was dhazzled in ecstasy and did not look really human, but more like Shiva in Samadhi with half open eyes. Its appearance made me partake of this "I'm everywhere and connecting those who are attuning themselves into this event" and also gave a strong taste of his own samadhi.
I had several over the distance experiences with him, some of such caliber, that from then on the recommendation has always been here to partake in his events or online offerings. Some of my friends and also parents did not experience any big things, so it is obviously dependent on your receptivity aswell, which is mainly an outcome of daily practice anyway. The rest is some openness and attentiveness of what is happening.
What is clear here, the sadhana he creates will tune you into the event and also make it easy for him to localize you and transmit precisely. For those who want to experience a shared entry into eternal presence with intense reach and depth, this may help do what the own effort could not so far.
The relevant youtube links for the preparational practices are:
Intro (short): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lC7nJjRfU_Y
Practice full length: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyWEu6qIApE
To my feel the most important part of the practice is mantra chant + this time the Shiva Namaskar. Rest may finetune the whole package, but may be undoable for most.
Whish you a happy night and till then
peace and happy practice friends! :) |

Hello friends,
small update: The preparational sadhana can be found here too as written text:
http://mahashivarathri.org/sadhana/...ign=dmq-blog
14 days left to Maha Shivarathri, therefore the 14 days preperational cycle can be started today. Other options are 7 days and 3 days before the event.
Have already 1 week of sadhana in belly and wanted to share a little of my experience so far:
The Shiva Namaskar requires some flexible spine and therefore one should start a little slower in the moves the first days :P It gives a good stretch to the spinal area, also relaxes the perineum area and makes the energies circulate fastly up and down the system. Additionally you also have a good physical blood circulation going on, resulting in a resting phase of both physical and energetical calming down.
While saying the "Shiva" in the namaskaram, had some interesting insights and some type of visions in regards to Shiva as envisioned by Sadhguru. A connection to Shiva and Sadhguru and the night obvously is taking place.
The long mantra afterwards when using the same intonation of Sadhguru had some special effect the first 2 days, resembling exactly the experience of the Maha Shivarathri day last year and the year before, creating an energyspace which shifts your attention from the senses to eternal presence infused by Jaggi's energy presence, which tries to stabilizie and amplify that eternal space to be more easily perceivable. It lifted me up quite nicely and surprisingly, making it clear that the mantric chant is charged quite intensly.
The shorter mantra with 5 lines also suprised after the 5th and 6th repetition, creating an enormous joyful energy linked to Shiva and his omnipresent omnipotent joy-bliss-samadhi.
The first day was the msot intense, the days after got more mild in their effect, obviously the first experience is always the biggest as it has the most intense contrast to your body-mind-formation. After some days the system gets used to it, but still the sync and depth is increasing.
One thing was interesting to note, noone is expecting any big thing out of this night, like you will do the sadhana and then everything will continue as always, but the first or second day of practice some nonlogical insight came, that absolutely anything impossible can happen and that one should not limit oneself in anyway. I think Jaggi has imbued this quality into the sadhana-process consciously.
That's for now,
peace and happy practice firends :) |

Hello all,
the live-stream link is as follows:
http://mahashivarathri.org/live-web...ign=msr_2016
You may need to use a time-converter for your place to watch the live-stream from the beginning. But it is also possible to watch missed parts or start the stream later.
Most probably it will be a youtube-stream again, therefore add-ons like "proxflow" for your browsers to optimize proxy-settings may be helpful depending on your country.
The Mahashivarathri night is on March 7th - 8th, means tomorrow night.
Wanted to share another experience report regarding this event:
Living in Europe, the stream normally starts at 12am and ends at 12pm here. The intention was to tune into the live-stream at around 6pm with European timings, which would be around 12pm in India. From my last years experience, Jaggi starts to boost the crowd beginning with the events timing. Today I was preparing with additional pactice sessions and fasting this afternoon. But somehow I was surpised as no elevation and intensification of the presence imbued with Jaggis will was happening as it happened in the last Mahashivarathris. Then trying to open the livestream, the big surprise, that is is tomorrow :P Could not feel Jaggi today at all, like he has disappeared or is absorbed into nothing and preparing for tomorrows mass-flight aswell (=
Peace friends and happy practice! :)
Edit: Corrected the webstream-link! |

Mhh the live-stream link is not working. Perhaps they are not using Youtube this time, but their own servers, which are unable to handle the rush? (=
Hopefully the stream will come up. Checked the link, it should be very much correct.
Am already feeling the upliftment, so tune in and enjoy :)

Thank you orangesky,
it did work after the edit from the post before, so all fine and in time :D
Yes this time they made it in a way, that no proxy was required, which was pretty nice, as we could watch the stream comfortably via a youtube app on the tv. In this regard Jaggi has done the optimum choice for practicability :)
Hope everyone could enjoy the good vibes and is continuing to do so :D
For those who want to watch the one or other part of the whole night, it has been fully recorded and is available here:

Your are welcome Omsat!
Thanks all and happy joyful blissfull Maha Shivaratri!
