Hi, i loved the book, particularly the first half chapters.

After a certain point he was very distant from his wife and very aloof, like when he was playing with the dirt in the cabins while talking to the group, weak many times unable to walk, or especially on live tv. It was very undesirable, a contrast from all the glorious narration of pleasure and ecstasy in the first half chapters.

1. Is the way john was portrayed an accurate representation of where ayp takes us, or was he overdoing?

2. Secondly, unless that's the end result, why was the story portraying him like that, to warn us of overdoing?
