I have been practicing siddhasana from day one of AYP.. it always felt very natural to sit that way during my practice.. Well it started off as a practice that increased ecstatic conductivity... but now I think the effect of siddhasana are changing.. These days, when I am meditating at some public place, and cannot sit in siddhasana.. but of course I am in mulabandha and sambhavi.. the energy stays down and increases to a point where I get a sudden burst of energy moving through my body all at once.. however when I do practice in siddhasana the energy gets evened out.. so it is not one big burst.. but a gentle upward flow of ecstatic energy.. actually I don't even notice the energy when I practice in siddhasana.. So it seems like siddhasana is actually evening out the energy.. not activating/increasing it..
Hi Shanti this is interesting stuff it seems you are moving on big time. According to my understanding a gentle upward movement of energy is exactly what siddhasana is supposed to do as you progress with your practices. For my part I still get very intense surges of ecstatic conductivity and hot spots in my spine during spinal breathing.
Thanks, that's interesting. Congratulations on your progress but don't get attached it's just scenery on the way yada yada yada.
So it seems like siddhasana is actually evening out the energy.. not activating/increasing it..
Yes, it makes sense that it could do both; in some cases activating the energy, in others, drawing it out smoothly. In fact, they aren't contradictory at all when you think about it. The 'smoothness' could be due to the steady stimulation that brings the energy steadily out, instead of letting it build up and escape in a burst.
