Enjoying the Great Outdoors

You know, this is one of my favorite lessons, because Yogani once again clarifies how Deep Meditation is a technique of travelling inward. The more we travel inward, the more we can enjoy and sublimely perceive the outward aspects of ourselves, such as Mother Nature.

I experienced some of that pleasure this weekend in the Florida Keys. I went down there for an old friend's bachelor party. While everyone else was drinking lots of booze and getting stoned, I stayed sober and found a quiet place to meditate. Shortly after the session, I swam in the crystal clear ocean water and basked in the warmth of the sun. I dangled my feet off a dock and fed the tropical fish with bits of bait. I relished in the sparkling colors all around me, and appreciated how meditation has sharpened my senses in a way that seems to keep refining.

Has anyone else noticed an increased connection with Mother Nature and our Collective Body on Earth?

I was wondering how is it that I am liking being frozen in Chicago .. days with max temperature of 5 deg or even 0 .. no sun, dark clouds .. 4 layers of clothing before you step out ..

and I am still happy ... it's because of the beautiful snow :-)

LOL. I'm heading up to northern Michigan next weekend for the retreat, so it'll be an interesting contrast to what I'm used to in Florida.

Thank you for reminding me of the beauty of snow. Glad you are able to soak in the natural splendor, even in the coldness.

New England is buried under feet (meters) of snow and yet shoveling it has been the unexpected pleasure of being one with dear Mother.

Very nice. This morning I was playing guitar in the backyard and listening to the birds as well. It's probably a romantically imagined correlation, but I could have sworn they were responding to some of my music. Either way, the sound of their song was much appreciated for its resonant melody coming from high above.

A labor of love. I relate. Nothing like some good ol' manual labor.

I was walking along the river the other day. The leaves of the evergreens glittering in the sunlight. Everyting so peaceful.
It was magic.

And yes to that, too.
