Glacier

The glacier is breaking up.
Shards float in the ocean,
drifting together and apart,
in fresh and subtle patterns.

Let them fall away,
a few at a time,
neither yours,
and neither mine.

Trust the Beloved.
Warm breath of joy
will melt them for us.
Fear not, gentle creatures.

They are true, just not complete
of either heaven or the deep,
nor water nor eternal sun,
yet breathing still as endless one.
