the ego is king
all hail the ego
the ego, who i love, who i adore, who i worship
ego, you have brought me so much joy
so much pain and suffering
so much entertainment, delusion, and distress
how i enjoy the games we play in solitude
and the way i have to mold you to the unpredictable entanglements of socialization
...with other egos...
others put you down, condemn you, bash you
but i,
i will exalt you and place you on a pedestal--
not above other egos, mind you, but i will place all egos on the grand pedestal
so we can all rejoice together in our ego-ness
as the commerical for artificially-made waffles used to say:
"leggo my eggo."
i will proclaim:
"leggo my ego."
let us celebrate the ego today, for 'tis a gift from God. |
