the dirt in the ground
the soil and its fertility
the worms and maggots and daisies with blossoms
sharing space on this circular globe

a globe of many globes revolving around vast and intricate spirals
with a center so bright that it must be beyond comprehension

as we grow and evolve and refine our infrastructure of sturdiness
to sustain some kind of paradise, free from war, poverty and disease:
a place of abundance, thriving on innovation, genius, and artistry

the roughness becomes smoothness
the rawness becomes sublime
the big-bang-explosion of stardust crystallizes to shine
through a holographic spectrum of somewhat recognizable boundaries

each little task can be a creative project
each small chore can be an epic adventure
each breath is a hurricane brewing in the ocean of consciousness

i stare at the tiny follicles of hair on my arm, sensing how each one can touch the atmosphere
i see lines etched into the crevices of my hands, like microcosmic caverns of memory
i watch my mind chase streams of thought like a river pouring down cascading canyons...
into pools and reservoirs of collection that can be drank from

and so, the water of life meets the dirt of deadness
to perpetuate this cycle, this dance, this expression
of stillness speaking

serenity animated

tranquility transmuted

into Being.

Bodhi Tree,

Your poem evokes the vastness of the universe and at the same time
offers an optimistic future for all humanity along with the fantastic nature of our individual role in the whole.

At times I perceive the world a dark and devolving place. Your poem reminds me that is not the case. I have but to open me eyes and look.
