Dear friends,

It is so hard for me to speak plainly. I never know the point. I have a lot of conversations with myself, spirits, or whatever you want to call it. I decided to talk with my Krishna murti the other night after I had laid into myself with severe criticism. I just told Him I that I feel like a fraud and a monster, and that I love Him. I can't tell if I'm a dragon or a blade of grass, or one hiding in the other. Another metaphor, fun.

I've taken to seeing my poetical inclination as a symptom of the vata guna, or aspect of wind/air. The word "anima" means so much to me. It is a channel of animation, a spirit, a ghost, air, wind, breeze: the spirit of the wanderer. Eventually, I'll wander away from this meaning, too.

Spoken:

You admire my words.
Your tears are of gratitude.
Or are they of prideful awe?
Know what your tears rejoice in.

Dear Anima,

Sure, you’re great--
Greatly annoying!
Give us a break, dude.
‘Cause guess what?

You don’t know, either.
Why we’re here.
Why God spares us.
Or for how long.

But thanks for your gifts
In this gifted present,
And for your presence,
And your foolish fits.

Dad always said
I had music in my voice.
We sing along the way.
What do I have to prove?

~Tom

You really do have a music you your voice. Your tune is an inspiration here.
