Hi Everyone, I'm new here and I'm interested if the highest view in yoga equates to that held in Kashmiri Shaivism.
I hope I've posted this question in the correct area.

Hi Kris, and welcome aboard!
Yes, I think so. Both are aiming for the same result ... human spiritual transformation.
I can't say much about Kashmir Shaivism practiced as a religion, but one of their main scriptures, the 4000 year old Vigyan Bhairava (also by other spellings), is up there with the Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika as a valuable ancient recording of practical spiritual knowledge, and much older too. It covers the basic principles of meditation, samyama, spinal breathing pranayama, tantric sexual technique, and other methods.
We touch on the Vigyan Bhairava in a few places in AYP:
http://www.aypsite.org/136.html http://www.aypsite.org/T21.html
It is also the source for the dedication page quote for the AYP Tantra book that came out in June.
Wishing you the best on your chosen path. Enjoy!

Hi yogani, Thanks for the tip on the Vigyan Bhairava.
Still getting the hang of posting up in this format.
