i'm on fire
and the flames will consume
any last vestiges of self-pity

i'm in the zone
and the silence will resound
until all my karmic debts echo with laughter

i'm on my knees
begging for the eternal story to be revealed to humanity
and for the orchestra of angels to play through my fingers

i'm going all-out at a steady-smooth pace
trying to remember that this is not a race
and that the time for joy will never escape us
