in and out of bouts of euphoria
in between the desperate yearning for ecstatic experience
on the periphery of a revolving rolodex of desires

a still, quiet man says:
this is as good as it gets
you are as enlightened as you will ever be
the race has already been run, and everybody's a winner

and yet, another man says:
but run the race anyway
strive for all manners of dream and imagination
recognize the possibility of impossibility

true, there's nothing left to lose, and nothing left to gain
but where else can we hide from this tidal wave of evolution?

all we have is time and space, and the space between time shrunk
into the palm of my hand, speaking through molecules of mini-universes
dabbling in puddles of abandoned projects asking to be redeemed

the children are crying, and the adults have passed out from too much cheesecake
the predators are killing, but the prey don't feel like playing the game anymore
the choir is singing, but the conductor has fallen asleep and left the baton lying on the floor

who will pick it up?

nice mystical poem full of creativity coming from Stillness...
my feeling is:
the still man is a jnani
the other man is Yogani (ie any system based on practices)
the tidal wave of evolution is definitely happening no matter what (evolution is word very much present in ayp glossary )
the abandoned projects are released into stillness
the last paragraph is life happening....even death and life are a game
the conductor (God?) never was really conducting
any insights dear BT are welcome :)

I love your interpretation, maheswari. That totally resonates with me, especially the distinction between the two voices. Yes, the balance of self-inquiry and karma/bhakti yoga. Thank you, fellow poet.

i am sure others have other interesting interpretations too the beauty about creativity coming from stillness is that we dont know when/how it starts, nor how it unfolds or where it leads....we just find this creativity has achieved itself by itself...
