Hi,
If there are people who would like to get together either from this area, or have travel plans, let me know if you like.
Love,
Kev |

I am periodically in the Bay area for business. If I can coordinate it when things are set, I would definitely be interested in joining. Always enjoy a good discussion.

This could be informal or formal. If an AYP instructor wished to coordinate with me, that might be fun.
Love,
Kevin |

I might be inclined to put together a satsang.
As anyone who has read my posts knows, it would not be a strictly 'by the book' sort of thing. On the other hand, I am enthusiastic about the AYP set of practices --- and others.
My personal expertise is:
Kundalini stages 1,2,3 (would answer many questions; but would not mentor in guided awakening) Internal alchemy (including nectar cycle, descent of the divine child, integration with wholeness) Sexual Continence (basic to Tantra) Esoteric cosmology (smashing through apparent duality) The path of the Bhakti (supercharging with self-pacing)
This would be a sharing session, and I would not be the only person presenting hopefully. My expertise affects most AYP practices, but I am not an AYP instructor as you know.
It must also be put out there, that direct experience is my 'authority' and only coincidentally does what I share mesh well with some major traditions such as Kashmir Shaivism.
Just putting this out there, to see if there is interest.
Love,
Kev
Hi Kevin,
I have family in that area (I'm from there originally - Silicon Valley area) and visit infrequently.
I have no idea when I might be out there next, but if it all syncs up at the right times - sure, that would be great.
A few of us who are AYPers have gotten together before and after retreats, and a couple of other times, and it's always awesome.
Our get togethers are very casual, though -- not any kind of a formal satsang, at all. Having experienced this "casual get together" setting a few times now, I would say it's likely a better format for true and meaningful communication than a more formal satsang would be.
There seems to be a lot of benefit to the free flow of conversation between friends, and to not setting up any illusory sense of someone being in a better position to teach than anyone else.
My two cents, for what it's worth.

Doug,
Some folks want a cow instead of just drinking milk.
I don't even want to be a cow (the mental image that statement evoked is semi-priceless.. but ugh*)
However some coordination might be beneficial.
I'm not averse to dragging out Bessy, if that promotes wholesome milk drinking.
There is nothing I like better than shooting the sh*t with family, that's the part I want.
Love,
Kevin |

Hi Kevin,
My point was just that an informal dynamic can work well, too, based on experience.
In the gatherings I've participated in, there have been enough people familiar with core AYP practices, that having an AYP instructor wasn't an issue.
If, for whatever reason, that wasn't the case with the satsang you're suggesting, I agree that having someone who is familiar with core AYP practices, per your previous posts, would be good (i.e. if AYP is going to be discussed, it's good to have someone who can articulate and confirm AYP teachings accurately).
And "informal" doesn't mean anarchy -- it just means less formal than a lot of what are called satsangs, these days (which are, arguably, less formal than traditional satsangs).
Even AYP retreats are like that (structured, but informal in tone) - the retreat leaders usually speak more as friends and co-practitioners than as teachers - and it works well, as many retreat attendees have confirmed.
I don't see this as a "cow vs. milk" dynamic -- I'm just speaking of an environment where "getting the cow" might happen more easily.

Bessy is more of a lover than a feed the world type
Being a feed the world type is very unnerving for a cow

If you want the cow and it's milk, then you cant have steak... wouldn't it then be a case of having your cake and eating it too. |
