Pratyahara I found this to be the clearest example of what pratyahara really is about and the incredible promise it holds. I had to re-read and ponder on it for a little while to recognize the care with which she chose her words to convey the degree to which pratyahara refines perception.
It is also a case example of what Yogani writes, that pratyahara corresponds to rise of ecstatic conductivity.
Flora Courtois, quoted by Sannella, writes: "it was as if some inner eye...which extended without limit...had been restored...focused on infinity in a way that was detached from immediate sight and yet had a profound effect on sight...there was a sharp one-pointedness to my attention now rooted into some deeper center so that my everyday sight, my eyes, were released from their (need) to see the world outside..." (Sannella, p. 49).
