We may think, from our ego standpoint, that we are heroically involved in producing our enlightenment. The truth is that all the real work is done by automatic processes; at our very best, we can do the things that catalyze these automatic processes, and then stay out of the way as much as possible of the Great Work. We may think we are heroically finding God. Ha ha ha. The truth is not nearly so flattering: God is finding us, and replacing all of our parts in the process.
