Greetings,
Chiron felt like sharing the fruits of his long lonely nights..lol. So here it is, a compilation of some tantric techniques one may find helpful. Many have already been mentioned in the AYP lessons.
Most of the following techniques are suitable for celibates as well. For obvious reasons some are exclusively for males.
A few practices are best not talked about as its preferrable the person discovers them through their own intuition. The advanced energy techniques are not covered, except perhaps for one-way SPB, that's up to the expert practitioners to contribute. Please keep to the same format if possible (ie. highlight the name of the technique in bold).
Beginners should keep in mind that an established sacred sitting asan (ie. siddhasan, padmasan) and a long-term daily meditation habit are necessary prerequisites for safe tantric practices.
1. [Holdback] When overly aroused and getting close to orgasm, halt or gear down the sexual activity until the excitement subsides.
This is done to avoid orgasm, prolong the sexual act and increase the amount of energy cultivated.
The technique is covered in tantra lesson 4 (http://www.aypsite.org/T4.html)
2. [Blocking] When about to ejaculate, place the fingers on the perinium and press gently to avoid expelling semen. This reduces energy loss from having an orgasm.
The technique is covered in tantra lesson 5 (http://www.aypsite.org/T5.html)
3. [Perinium Flex Static] (Mulabandha) Flex the perinium muscle and hold it for as long as possible. Holding the breath and asvini & sambhavi mudras are optional additions depending on safe pacing preferences (http://www.aypsite.org/38.html).
In conjunction with #1, the technique is effective at reducing sexual arousal and pushing the energy upwards out of the pelvic area.
AYP lesson 55 is important to read (http://www.aypsite.org/55.html)
4. [Perinium Flex Dynamic] This is the same as #3 except the duration of each bandha is short and is done at the beginning, middle or ending of each thrust.
This technique reduces the necessity for frequent holdbacks (#1) for males but may need a little practice getting used to.
5. [Coccyx bend] Can be done in any position but best done in postures similar to virasana. Place hands on knees, push chest forward, tilt head back and bend the coccyx backwards as far as possible, bending the lower back as if trying to touch Your head with the coccyx.
This technique seems to create a channel for the sexual energy to travel upwards, it is extremely effective for reducing sexual arousal, especially when done in conjunction with #3 (static mulabandha).
The ancient Maori art of carving may hold a few secrets for the modern man: http://files.myopera.com/Kiron/misc...0warrior.JPG http://files.myopera.com/Kiron/misc...0warrior.JPG
6. [Abdominal lift] (Uddyana Bandha) Exhale air out of your lungs completely and pull in the belly. Relax and pull in a few times while holding the breath.
This one becomes necessary at times and is good for the excess energy which collects around the lower abdomen.
More at AYP lesson 129 (http://www.aypsite.org/129.html)
7. [Hip rotation] Get on all fours, spread knees apart and rotate the pelvis in a circular motion, feeling the hips. Can be done while standing or lying also. When standing it is better to try and isolate the movement of the hips vs the pelvis by slightly lifting the feet off the ground.
Hip rotation is a less arousing and at times more enjoyable alternative to thrusting.
Joints tend to obstruct the flow of prana, and hips being one of the largest joints in the body tend to collect alot of energy. Just a few rotations can help spread the sexual energy out of the pelvic area.
8. ["Main Switch"] When there is need to get rid of an erection, bend the lingam as far backwards between the legs as possible and hold it there. After a little while bend it back more. Continue until it touches the perinium and hold it there.
Before doing this technique, try #1, #3 & #5 in conjunction with each other. If that fails to spread the energy and reduce sexual arousal then this is the last resort. It will shut down the apparatus for a some time, lol.
Perhaps this practice can serve as preparation for positions like: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_VOeTAVik_...ajuraho1.jpg
9. [Dynamic One-way SPB] This technique is identical to the Spinal Breathing Pranayam covered in lesson 41 (http://www.aypsite.org/41.html), except it is done in any posture and instead of travelling back down the spine, the concentration is kept on the third eye (or up and out the sahasrar depending on safe pacing preferences) during exhale. The technique is most effective when done in conjunction with #1, #3 & #5 above.
This is done with the intention of drawing the sexual energy upwards to the higher energy centers.
Tantric Accessories
10. [Organic lubricant] (Khechari mudra - http://www.aypsite.org/108.html) Once Khechari stage 2 or higher is achieved, one will have access to the fluids which hydrate the pharynx. These fluids are superior to saliva and serve as excellent lubricant. To make it organic, one has to start visiting the local health supermarkets
Instead of looking at those bed sheet stains, parents need to give such a list to their teenage children.. lol.. anyway.. best of luck to You friends.

Hey Chiron,
Instead of placing fingers on the perineum can't we just use a strong pc muscle squeeze or butt contraction (anal sphincter) to avoid full blown ejaculation?
The only risk is that the energy might go backwards and we might face semen/sperm in the urination afterwards?
What happens then? Is it safe or not recommended? |

Hi taotanvir,
In my experience, Mulabandha and blocking can cause hemorrhoids. Some years ago I read in AYPforums that other yogis had the same problem, and I think it is due to the mentioned practised (in my case I am sure it happened due to those practices). The solution is to massage the pelvic floor area from squatting position (in the shower you´ll be more lubricated), while breathing in the pelvic floor area.
