Hi All:

Google opened their new eBookstore today, and all the AYP ebooks are in it. Links can be found under each AYP title on the books page here: http://www.aypsite.org/books.html

That will soon include the new AYP Easy Lessons Volume 2 also. See over here on that: http://www.aypsite.org/forum/topic....OPIC_ID=8846

Google is taking a multi-pronged approach to selling ebooks, offering online reading on any device with an internet browser, and also downloads to standard computers and mobile reading devices (e-readers, tablets and phones). They have PDF and EPUB formats now, and plan to add MOBI for the Kindle. They are also opening it up to a vast network of partners, so anyone with a website can sell ebooks from Google (including bundling of ebooks with paper book sales by any retailer). This is particularly attractive to struggling independent bookstores who have been mostly left out of the digital revolution.

No doubt ebooks are going to be dove-tailed with Google's pervasive web search and advertising capabilities, making ebooks as visible as these core services that Google provides. So it looks like Google aims to be the juggernaut in ebooks that they are in search and online advertising. They have some tough competition, so we'll see. In any case, Google's entry means that ebooks are here to stay.

Happy reading, and all the best!

The guru is in you.
